Ordinary people, i.e. the occasional racecourse visitor, are relatively indifferent to who starts on the green turf. As long as they find a pleasant atmosphere, affordable prices and attractive races, they have fun and are willing to invest a few euros more at the totalisator.
A sensational 513,000 euros were wagered on the best day with three fours. In ten races. Apart from Baden-Baden, only Hamburg manages that on Derby day. Even on the final Sunday, more than 200,000 Euros were invested, surpassing the result of Berlin-Hoppegarten on the same day, and it should be noted that the Fürstenberg race in the capital was even a group race! And most of the top jockeys were there too. Several four/five horse races had to be absorbed in Harzburg, but the people, especially on the track, still bet what they could.

Climate change does not stop in the Harz Mountains, especially in high summer. But this did not dampen the enjoyment of the five great days in the Harz.
