| Hope for a better 2022 |
On 10 April, the 2022 Group Racing season will start with the Spring Mile in Düsseldorf. There will also be top sport this year until November. The prize money has largely been raised to the pre-Corona level, and in the group competitions there is once again the 55,000 euros to be earned as before. This is very good news for the riders.
The time of half or at least shrunken bonuses must now be a thing of the past, because life has become increasingly expensive. Especially at present, when not only petrol prices have reached astronomical levels. The effects of the terrible war, the still unfinished pandemic, inflation - these are times that one could not have imagined, did not wish for and seemingly do not want to end. We all long for earlier times.
At least the spectators have returned to the racecourses and, as I said, the prize money has been adjusted. This is exactly the right start on the way back to normality. 2022 is the anniversary of "200 years of German gallop racing". It is to be celebrated everywhere, starting on the aforementioned 10th April in Düsseldorf.
It is important that it is not only about elite events, like in a noble hotel in the capital, but also "ordinary people" should be allowed to celebrate. Active evenings, barbecues, or DJ music, there are so many ways to celebrate the special date. We are looking forward to it, because 2022 should be a good year, a year of joy without war or pandemic. It can only get better.
