Investments and no outdated equipment
There is no question that the racing clubs in Germany are anything but on a bed of roses. Hardly anyone can make big leaps. But investing in the future is more important than ever if you want to remain competitive and continue to present attractive racing events in the future. So it is necessary to invest money in order not to suddenly lose one`s top position.

Baden Galopp, the operator of the racecourse in Baden-Baden-Iffezheim, has invested money, 150,000 euros to be precise, and purchased a new starting machine from France. This is good and enormously important, because delays at the starting point or even accidents caused by outdated equipment don`t help anyone. Padding, a comfortable stay for the horses, no frequent breaking through, that`s what new starting gates can do. The new machine will already be used at the Great Week and will certainly pass its baptism of fire.

Hamburg also took such a step a few years ago, to name only the two most prominent tracks. Several jockeys in this country complained about the condition of the starting boxes in Cologne, this machine is already many decades old. They urgently pointed out several times that something had to be done about it. Little has happened so far. But the cathedral city is certainly not an isolated case. Especially in times when animal welfare is more important than ever, everything must be done to make the races and the surrounding area safe. Baden-Baden is now setting a positive example with its purchase. Let`s hope that others will follow.
