Split screen seems to be a foreign word |
Whether you like the World Cup in Qatar or not, all the matches will be broadcast. Even if not all of them will be broadcast on free TV. But if you want, you can see every detail. It is similar with the Bundesliga, the Champions League or winter sports.
Racing fans can`t complain either. The livestreams make it possible to watch the action live from all over the world. For years, Equidia, the broadcaster that brings French gallop and trotting races into people`s homes, onto their computers or mobile phones, has been delivering showcase images.
But on 20 November, there was once again a phenomenon that is anything but rare in the neighbouring country. The transmission from one place is suddenly interrupted because something unexpected has happened. Delays in the start of the race for all kinds of reasons mean that people quickly switch to another racecourse whose next race is sometimes only ten minutes later. But the fact that the race is then not shown at all, or at least not live, as was the case here with an Angers test (which also ended with a German victory), is annoying.
There is, after all, the possibility of a split screen, as is practised in England and even in Germany. Equidia could have gone to Bordeaux and shown the race from Angers on a small screen. But there was radio silence. As the weather, you were looking down the tube. It was better to show only pictures from the driving ring than live races, for whatever reason. That really can`t be it in this day and age.
