The oldest election in German sport has just started again, Deutscher Galopp is looking for the "Galopper of the Year 2021". Palmas, Sisfahan and Torquator Tasso are up for election. But who will ultimately come out on top in the fans` favour is obvious. Without wanting to prejudge the vote, the title winner can only be Torquator Tasso. 1.0:1 would be the odds at the totalisator... For the Arc victory in 2021 was an achievement that stands at a lonely height.
So there are hardly any moments of suspense this time, but the quality of a Torquator Tasso can be a big advantage in marketing in the long run. Because by now even non-insiders outside Germany know the four-legged crack. He has won the race of the year and will soon be ready for possible great deeds on the international stage.
Danedream led the way a few years ago, but the popularity of a Torquator Tasso doesn`t seem to be of bad parents either. Maybe in 2022 we will see the racecourses bursting at the seams when everyone wants to see the top galloper before he then sets off for great destinations beyond the borders.
Television and the new media must be supplied with more information so that "TT" is reported on in detail. No other sport in Germany comes close to football, but the signs are good that Torquator Tasso will help the Turf regain the popularity it deserves.
