The happy medium for admission prices
It is a big and, above all, heated discussion that is currently circulating especially in the social media - the admission prices at German racecourses are the topic and are sometimes heavily criticised. Opinions differ as to whether 10, 15 or just over 20 euros for a normal ticket is right or too high.

The fact is, a visit to the Hippodrome must remain affordable for a family of several with children and must not strain the wallet so much that no bet is possible at all. Especially as there are also the costs for food and drink. That must remain within reasonable limits. During the Corona years 2020 and 2021, a visit to the racecourse was often not possible at all. We still remember the restrictions as a result of the pandemic.

But now anyone who wants to can come again, there is no limit. But the sometimes sharply increased prices are not to be borne by everyone. At the same time, one must also see: As a spectator, you get several hours of entertainment in the fresh air. A football match, on the other hand, lasts just 90 minutes, and here a ticket costs considerably more than for the horses.

So you have to find a happy medium. We are thinking of tickets with still presentable prices, depending on the day around 10 to 15 euros per ticket, or somewhat higher costs, but including a betting voucher. This would be an incentive to bring people to the betting counters.

Conclusion: Don`t exaggerate the ticket prices, but also give the race organisers the opportunity to deal with the hard times from the pandemic and its consequences.
