Alessio in the Prix de Reux
Deauville, Saturday, 5 August: Today`s nine-race event in Deauville promises exciting decisions. From a German point of view, the Prix de Reux (7th race/17.35 h/80,000 Euro/2500 m), which belongs to Group 3, will be in the foreground.

Marcel Weiss will saddle last year`s Derby sixth-placed Alessio (Mickael Barzalona) for the Ittlingen stud. The four-year-old is currently rehearsing successfully in Saint-Cloud for today`s task. The favourite role will probably fall to Junko (Maxime Guyon), who finished a very good third in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (Group 1). The four-year-old, trained by Andre Fabre, will have the support of True Testament (Alexis Pouchin). In Deauville at Group 2 level, he finished third behind Junko. Big Call (Stephane Pasquier) hits it easier than in the Ascot Gold Cup (Group 1), but carries maximum weight. Lastotchka (Theo Bachelot), the only mare in the field, was not far behind in the Grand Prix de Chantilly (Group 2) for second place. Have Dancer (Ioritz Mendizabal) and Machete (Christophe Soumillon) are anything but field fillers with their good forms.
